Very expected game when 9th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (6-20) was defeated at home by third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (17-11) 75-69 on Friday. Tokyo Cinq R. was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. Swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and center Anthony Stover (208-90, college: UCLA) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hamamatsu Phoenix. They maintain third place with 17-11 record having two points less than leader Akita NH.
