Regular Season Round 19: Winnipeg - Regina 73-63

Date: January 17, 2014
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Wesmen (8-5) beat 7th ranked Cougars (4-9) in Winnipeg, MB 73-63 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Wesmen. Cougars was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quite impressive performance for American forward Steven Wesley (196, college: E.Washington) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Jelane Pryce (201) contributed with 7 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Brandon Tull (193) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Brendan Hebert (183) added 8 points and 7 assists in the effort for Cougars. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wesmen moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Cougars dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Wesmen will face again Cougars (#7) in Regina, SK in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
