The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Lions' (8-5) home victory over 7th ranked Thunderbirds (3-9) in Toronto, ON 84-77 on Friday. The game without a history. Lions led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Thunderbirds were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for forward Daniel Tulloch (196) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Nick Tufegdzich (201) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Terrell Campbell (196-90) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Brett Zufelt (193) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Thunderbirds. Four Thunderbirds players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lions moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Thunderbirds lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Lions will face Voyageurs (#4) in Sudbury, ON in the next round. Thunderbirds will play at home against Golden Gaels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
