The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Golden Gaels' (7-6) home loss to fifth ranked Voyageurs (8-4) in Kingston, ON 76-84 on Friday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-76. Voyageurs looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Golden Gaels' players. It was a very good performance for guard Alex Ratte (191) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Tychon Carter-Newman (191) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Greg Faulkner (196) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds and forward Nikola Misljencevic (196) added 10 points in the effort for Golden Gaels. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Voyageurs moved-up to third place, which they share with Lethbridge. Loser Golden Gaels dropped to the third position with six games lost. Voyageurs will face Lions (#5) in Toronto, ON in the next round. Golden Gaels will play on the road against Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie, ON and hope to win that game.
