Regular Season Round 15: Sudety - Cieszyn 109-93

There was no surprise in Jelenia Gora where 11th ranked Cieszyn (2-13) was defeated by eighth ranked Sudety (7-8) 109-93 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sudety. Cieszyn was better in second period 32-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Cieszyn's 52 and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Sudety looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Cieszyn was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Jaroslaw Wilusz (200-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Jakub Czech (203-84, agency: Promotex) helped adding 24 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was forward Leszek Siwy (196-83) with 27 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Lukasz Kubik (201-92) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sudety maintains eighth place in Group B with 7-8 record. Cieszyn lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Sudety will face AZS Pol.Cz-wa (#10) in Czestochowa in the next round. Cieszyn will play at home against the league's leader GKS Tychy where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
