Regular Season Round 31: Kyoto Hannar. - Gunma 89-63

Date: January 18, 2014
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (19-10) smashed at home 9th ranked Gunma (6-21) 89-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Gunma was better in fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gunma 41-28 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Puerto Rican-American swingman Edwin Ubiles (198-86, college: Siena) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. point guard Shun Watanuki (178-87) chipped in 14 points. American center Sylvester Morgan (209-83, college: Georgia St.) produced 6 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kyoto Hannar.. They maintain second place with 19-10 record having just -1 point less than leader Akita NH. Loser Gunma dropped to the tenth position with 21 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face again Gunma (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
