A very close game took place in Montreal, QC between Gaiters and Citadines. Third ranked Gaiters (5-1) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Citadines (1-7). Gaiters managed to escape with a 1-point win 83-82 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Citadines won third quarter 28-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gaiters dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Citadines' 28. They outrebounded Citadines 38-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gaiters made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was point guard Jonathan Bermillo (183) who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Onnex Blackwood (190) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Alexandre Bernard (196) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Richard Addai (180-88) added 18 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Citadines' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gaiters keep a position of league leader, which they share with McGill. Citadines lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
