Regular Season Round 18: Basquete Cearense - Mogi das Cruzes 71-69

A very interesting game took place in Aldeota. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Mogi (7-9) to eleventh ranked SKY/Basquete (7-9) 71-69 in the game for the tenth place. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 8-point deficit before their 24-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Mogi outrebounded SKY/Basquete 39-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Jimmy de Oliveira (189-90) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American center DeVon Hardin (211-86) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American power forward Jefferson Agba (209-80, college: Embry Riddle) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Thomas Gehrke (203-82, college: UTEP) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mogi. Mogi's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SKY/Basquete moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Mogi das Cruzes. Mogi lost fourth consecutive game. SKY/Basquete's next round opponent will be higher ranked Unitri (#6) in Uberlandia and it may be quite challenging game.
