Regular Season Round 20: McMaster - Laurier 87-69

Date: January 18, 2014
Not a big story in a game in Hamilton, ON where 3rd ranked Golden Hawks (6-8) were defeated by first ranked Marauders (11-3) 87-69 on Saturday. The game without a history. Marauders led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Joe Rocca (193) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and center Taylor Black (201) who added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. Guard Maxwell Allin (193) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Matthew Chesson (203) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Marauders and four Golden Hawks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Marauders have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-3 record, which they share with Saskatchewan and Ryerson. Loser Golden Hawks keep the third place with eight games lost. Marauders will face Gryphons (#5) in Guelph, ON in the next round. Golden Hawks' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Waterloo, ON Warriors.
