Regular Season Round 24: Poitiers - Bourg 75-72

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Poitiers (12-12) edged at home higher ranked JL Bourg (15-8) 75-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-72. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Karim Souchu (198-79, college: Furman) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and American-Dominican swingman Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) who added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard O'Darien Bassett (189-86, college: Troy) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Devin Booker (203-91, college: Clemson) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. JL Bourg's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Poitiers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with St Quentin. Loser JL Bourg keeps the third position with eight games lost. Poitiers will face higher ranked Chalons-Reims (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. JL Bourg will play against the league's leader Aix-Maurienne where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
