Regular Season Round 17: Saint-Brieuc - Angers BC 77-90

Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Saint-Brieuc (5-12) lost at home to second ranked Angers BC (14-3) 90-77 on Saturday. Angers BC made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Thibaut Lonzieme (195-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. American forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Angers BC players scored in double figures. Angers BC's coach Vincent Lavandier used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Jimmy Lupot (190-83) answered with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Antoine Liorel (180-89) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Saint-Brieuc. Angers BC maintains second place with 14-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Monaco. Newly promoted Saint-Brieuc dropped to the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. Angers BC will face Lourdes-Tarbes (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saint-Brieuc will play against JA Vichy and hope to win that game.
