Regular Season Round 15: Castello - Azpeitia 99-77

Not a big story in a game in Castellon where 11th ranked Azpeitia (5-9) was rolled over by seventh ranked Castello (8-6) 99-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Castello. Azpeitia managed to win fourth quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Castello forced 22 Azpeitia turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Joan Faner (176-90) who scored 24 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Castello moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Azpeitia at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Zornotza. Castello will meet at home league's leader CB Guadalajara in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Azpeitia will have a break next round.
