The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Kvarner as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Kvarner defeated second-ranked GKK Sibenik in Rijeka 77-71. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of GKK Sibenik. It was a key game for the top position in the league.
