Regular Season Round 26: Prievidza - Nitra 75-60

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Prievidza. Third ranked Prievidza faced second-ranked Nitra. Host Prievidza (16-7) defeated guests from Nitra (17-6) 75-60. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Nitra. The game was mostly controlled by Prievidza. Nitra managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prievidza forced 22 Nitra turnovers. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Drazen Klaric (204-80) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian swingman Marko Batina (198-86) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Prievidza players scored in double figures. American guard Patrick Sparks (184-83, college: Kentucky, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) produced 8 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and Slovenian center Salih Nuhanovic (210-82) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Prievidza maintains third position with 16-7 record having four points less than leader Inter Bratislava. Nitra at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Prievidza are looking forward to face Handlova (#7) on the road in the next round. Nitra will play against Iskra Svit (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
