Regular Season Round 26: Inter Bratislava - Nova Ves 99-62

Leader Inter Bratislava delivered the nineteenth victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Nova Ves (2-20) 99-62. The game was mostly controlled by Inter Bratislava. Nova Ves was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Inter Bratislava dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Nova Ves' 42. Inter Bratislava forced 26 Nova Ves turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Inter Bratislava players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Nova Ves' players. The former international power forward Martin Rancik (206-78, college: Iowa St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Inter Bratislava's coach Oleg Meleschenko felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polish power forward Maciej Strzelecki (204-87) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Daniel Barnes (191-89, college: Ill.-Chicago) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Nova Ves. Defending champion maintains first position with 19-5 record. Nova Ves lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Inter Bratislava will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nova Ves will play at home against Rieker KN (#4) and hope to get back on the winning track.
