Regular Season Round 14: Charnay - Pau Orthez 60-62

Eleventh-ranked Charnay (4-9) made lots of trouble for third ranked Pau Lacq Orthez (10-3) in Charnay-les-Macon on Saturday. The visitors from Pau managed to secure only two-point victory 62-60. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Point guard Ingrid Bunel (174-87) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Lakevia Boykin (175-91, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 10 points and 5 assists during the contest. Guard Julie Legoupil (173-84) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Laure Belleville (175-87) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Pau Lacq Orthez moved-up to second place, which they share with Roche. Newly promoted Charnay keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Pays d'Aix. Pau Lacq Orthez will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Charnay will play against Roche (#3) in La Roche and hope to secure a win.
