Regular Season Round 14: JX Sunflowers - Aishin AW 71-65

No shocking result in a game in Kashiwa where first ranked JX Sunflowers (13-1) defeated 7th ranked Aishin Wings (4-10) 71-65 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Aishin Wings trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 20-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 65-71 at the end of the game. JX Sunflowers forced 19 Aishin Wings turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JX Sunflowers made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. International point guard Asami Yoshida (165-87) chipped in 8 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Shiyu Sato (178-87) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Hitomi Takasaki (168-86) added 16 points respectively for the guests. JX Sunflowers have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-1 record. Aishin Wings lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. JX Sunflowers will face again Aishin Wings (#8) in Anjo in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
