Regular Season Round 14: Denso Iris - Hitachi Cougars 88-50

There was no surprise in Kariya where 10th ranked Hitachi Cougars (2-12) were crushed by fourth ranked Denso Iris (11-3) 88-50 on Saturday. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hitachi Cougars to just 4 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. Denso Iris forced 25 Hitachi Cougars turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Miyuki Abe (170-90) chipped in 13 points. point guard Ai Tominaga (162-91) produced 11 points and center Kayoko Amano (180-89) added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Denso Iris moved-up to third place, which they share with Fujitsu RW. Hitachi Cougars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Denso Iris will face again Hitachi Cougars (#10) in Hitachinaka in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
