Very expected game in Vancouver where 8th ranked Cougars (1-13) were defeated by second ranked UBC (9-5) 67-59 on Saturday. Cougars trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 18-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 59-67 at the end of the game. UBC forced 25 Cougars turnovers. Guard Kris Young (178-92) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Harleen Sidhu (188-90, college: Nebraska) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Jordan Maclean (178) with 17 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Alicia Tan (152) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
