Regular Season Round 18: St.Mary's - Cape Breton 71-55

The game between closely ranked teams ended with top-ranked Huskies' (12-0) home victory over second-best Cape Breton (5-6) 71-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Huskies. Cape Breton was better in fourth quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Huskies forced 21 Cape Breton turnovers. The former international guard Justine Colley (175-91) scored 27 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Rachelle Coward (183-90, college: Charleston So.) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Alison Keough (186-95) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Keishia Lespoir (168) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Huskies have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Cape Breton lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Huskies will face Acadia (#7) in Wolfville in the next round where they are favorite.
