Regular Season Round 18: Brock - Windsor 65-87

Date: January 18, 2014
There was no surprise in Catharines where 4th ranked Brock (10-5) was outplayed by first ranked Lancers (13-1) 87-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Lancers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lancers outrebounded Brock 45-29 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lancers made 7 blocks. Forward Cheyanne Roger (190-95) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Korissa Williams (175-92) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Samantha Dejong (183) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Nicole Rosenkranz (185) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lancers have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Loser Brock keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Lancers will face Mustangs (#3) in London in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
