Regular Season Round 18: Victoria - UNBC 67-54

Everything went according to plan in Victoria where third ranked Vikes (9-5) beat 6th ranked Timberwolves (4-10) 67-54 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vikes. Timberwolves was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vikes forced 20 Timberwolves turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Vikes made 7 blocks. Guard Shaylyn Crisp (170) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jenna Bugiardini (180) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Mercedes Van Koughnett (165) with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Emily Kaehn (175) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vikes moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Timberwolves lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
