There was no surprise in Kingston where bottom-ranked Thunderbirds (0-14) were outplayed by third ranked Golden Gaels (9-5) 54-34 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Golden Gaels. Thunderbirds was better in fourth quarter 12-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Thunderbirds to just 7 points in first and third quarters. Golden Gaels forced 27 Thunderbirds turnovers. Point guard Liz Boag (160) scored 15 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jenny Wright (178) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Golden Gaels' coach Dave Wilson used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Karissa Kajorinne (170) with 9 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Sydney Resch (165) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Golden Gaels moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Thunderbirds still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
