Very predictable result when fourth ranked Regal FC Barcelona (11-5) beat at home 17th ranked Asefa Estudiantes (3-13) 73-56 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Regal FC Barcelona. Asefa Estudiantes managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Regal FC Barcelona especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Greek forward Kostas Papanikolaou (206-90) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Juan Carlos Navarro (192-80) who added 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Joaquim Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) responded with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Slovenian power forward Uros Slokar (21-83) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Regal FC Barcelona moved-up to third place, which they share with Unicaja. Loser Asefa Estudiantes keeps the seventeenth position with 13 games lost. Regal FC Barcelona will meet Cajasol (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Asefa Estudiantes will play against Gipuzkoa (#8) and hope to secure a win.
