Regular Season Round 16: Hapoel Eilat - Maccabi Haifa 60-80

The game in Eilat supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Maccabi Haifa (10-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Hapoel Eilat (8-8). Maccabi Haifa did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 80-60. Hapoel Eilat was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Maccabi Haifa dominated on the defensive end, holding Hapoel Eilat to just 6 points in third quarter. The winners were led by American forward Brian Randle (203-85) who scored that evening 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Dagan Yavzuri (193-85) supported him with 19 points. Four Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by international Elishay Kadir (202-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Eilat. American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 12 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Hapoel Eilat at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Maccabi Haifa's next round opponent will be Maccabi Rishon (#10) in Rishon Le-Zion and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Eilat will play on the road against Maccabi Ashdod (#12) and hope to win that game.
