An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bergen. Third ranked Gimle BBK faced 4th ranked Asker Aliens. Host Gimle BBK (8-2) defeated guests from Asker (8-5) 80-64. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Audun Eskeland (175-85) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American center Evan Matteson (211-90, college: Texas A&M Int.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Gimle BBK players scored in double figures. Gimle BBK's coach Brent Hackman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Anders Stien (195-90) replied with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Asker Aliens. Gimle BBK have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Asker Aliens at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Gimle BBK will play against Baerum Basket (#3) in Bekkestua in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Asker Aliens will play at home against Sverresborg and hope to get back on the winning track.
