Regular Season Round 16: Tromso - Ammerud Bskt 84-76

Top ranked Ammerud Bskt (9-5) recorded its fifth loss on the court of fifth ranked Tromso on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Tromso 84-76. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 34-15. But Ammerud Bskt won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tromso made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Tromso outrebounded Ammerud Bskt 35-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. American guard Gary Wallace (187-88, college: Robert Morris) fired 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The other American import power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. St.John is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-German forward Marco Sanders (202-79, college: Point Park) produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Ronald Timus (196-84, college: Morgan St.) added 25 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tromso have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Ammerud Bskt lost fourth consecutive game. They still keep top position with five games lost. Tromso will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ammerud Bskt will play at home against Sverresborg and is hoping to win this game.
