Regular Season Round 32: Kyoto Hannar. - Gunma 108-112

The most important game in the last round took place in Kyoto between second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (19-11) and tenth ranked Gunma (7-21) on Sunday night. Kyoto Hannar. was defeated by Gunma in a tough game at home 108-112. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kyoto Hannar.. Gunma made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Gunma especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Shingo Okada (186-83) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Puerto Rican-American swingman Edwin Ubiles (198-86, college: Siena) replied with 30 points and 6 rebounds and American forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) added 26 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Kyoto Hannar.Four Gunma and five Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gunma moved-up to ninth place. Kyoto Hannar. at the other side keeps the second position with 11 games lost. Gunma are looking forward to face higher ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (#3) in Mikawa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kyoto Hannar. will play on the road against Niigata Albirex and is hoping to win this game.
