Regular Season Round 32: Shinshu BW - Takamatsu FA 98-64

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Shinshu BW's (19-7) home victory over 5th ranked Takamatsu FA (13-15) in Nagano 98-64 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Shinshu BW dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Takamatsu FA's 36. American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Saito Yosuke (184-85) contributed with 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) replied with 25 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Andrais Thornton (203-85, college: NW Missouri St.) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Takamatsu FA. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls. Loser Takamatsu FA keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. Shinshu BW will face Oita Heat Devils (#4) on the road in the next round. Takamatsu FA will play against the league's leader Akita Happinets and hope to win that game.
