Regular Season Round 32: Aomori Watts - Fukuoka Rizing 84-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (11-17) lost on the road to eighth ranked Aomori Watts (12-14) 84-80 on Sunday. Aomori Watts outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 52-40 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Yuki Kitamuki (184-85) contributed with 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import swingman Seth Tarver (196-88, college: Oregon St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Mack Tuck tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aomori Watts moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sendai 89ers. Loser Fukuoka Rizing keeps the seventh position with 17 games lost. Aomori Watts will face higher ranked Shiga L-Stars (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
