Rather expected game in Halifax, NS where 6th ranked Capers (4-7) were defeated by third ranked Huskies (8-4) 73-55 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 40-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Huskies made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Capers turnovers. Strangely Capers outrebounded Huskies 40-28 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Boyd Vassell (178) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and point guard Marquis Clayton (178) who added 12 points, 6 assists and 6 steals during the contest (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Guard Seth Amoah (191) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and forward Sean McCormick (196) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Huskies maintains third position with 8-4 record having six points less than leader McMaster. Loser Capers keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Huskies will face league's second-placed Axemen in Wolfville, NS in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
