Very expected game in Madrid where 8th ranked Marin (6-8) was defeated by third ranked Fuenlabrada (10-4) 72-65 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-13. But Marin won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Sergio Perez (205-79, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Aramburu is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jose Fernandez (202-75) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Albert Homs (202-94, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Fuenlabrada keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Guadalajara and Prat. Marin at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Fuenlabrada will meet at home Zornotza (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Marin will play against Caceres Basket (#4) and hope to secure a win.
