Regular Season Round 32: Oita H.Devils - Iwate Big Bulls 58-68

An interesting game for Iwate Big Bulls (19-7) which played road game in Oita against one of their biggest challengers Oita Heat Devils (14-14). Third ranked Iwate Big Bulls managed to get a 10-point victory 68-58. Oita Heat Devils were ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 22-11 charge of Iwate Big Bulls, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Panamanian forward Leonardo Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American swingman Gabriel McCulley (200-89, college: UTEP) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Iwate Big Bulls have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-7 record having four points less than leader Akita NH, which they share with Shinshu BW. Oita Heat Devils lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will play against league's leader Okinawa GK at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oita Heat Devils will play against Shinshu BW and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
