There was a minor upset in Rishon Le-Zion where 9th ranked GreenTops Netanya (6-10) was defeated by eleventh ranked Maccabi Rishon (5-11) 83-74. GreenTops Netanya was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 45-33 second half run of Maccabi Rishon. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. The winners were led by point guard Davin White (186-81, college: CS Northridge) who scored that evening 21 points and forward Tasmin Mitchell (201-86, college: LSU) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even 20 points and 5 assists by guard Dawan Robinson (188-82, college: Rhode Island) did not help to save the game for GreenTops Netanya. Power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-84, college: Massachusetts) added 12 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliyya. GreenTops Netanya at the other side keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Maccabi Rishon's next round opponent will be higher ranked Maccabi Haifa (#4) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
