Regular Season Round 15: Maccabi Ashdod - Elitzur Netanya 89-60

D1 top team - Maccabi Ashdod (12-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Elitzur Netanya (3-10) 89-60. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Elitzur Netanya was better in fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Elitzur Netanya's 28 and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Maccabi Ashdod forced 19 Elitzur Netanya turnovers and outrebounded them 42-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a quality performance for the former international Bar Gilinski (185-92) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) accounted for 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Christine Flores (190-90, college: Missouri) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian forward Kalisha Keane (185-89, college: Michigan St.) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Elitzur Netanya in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-2 record. Elitzur Netanya lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Elitzur Netanya will play at home against Maccabi Ramat Hen (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
