Regular Season Round 15: Bnot Hertzeliya - Hap.Petah Tikva 83-74

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (2-12) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (5-8) 83-74 on Monday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hap.Petah Tikva won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bnot Hertzeliya made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Bnot Hertzeliya outrebounded Hap.Petah Tikva 45-27 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jessica Breland (190-88, college: N.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 rebounds. The former international Ortal Oren (175-84, college: UCLA, agency: Data Plus Group) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Juanita Ward (180-86, college: Syracuse, agency: Merit Management Group) who recorded 32 points and the other American import guard Jasmine Thomas (170-91, college: Michigan St.) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnot Hertzeliya moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Elitzur Holon. Hap.Petah Tikva lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Bnot Hertzeliya will meet league's second-placed Elitzur Ramla on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#5) and hope to secure a win.
