Regular Season Round 18: Umea - Sallen 61-59

The most exciting game of round 18 in the Damligan took place in Umea. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Sallen (10-4) to fourth ranked Umea (9-2) 61-59 on Monday evening. Sallen was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 17-10 charge of Umea, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American guard Jeannie Saunders (173-86, college: Salem Intern.) who led her team to a victory with 29 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import forward Ashliegh Brown (181-87, college: Miami, OH) contributed with 6 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Eureka Brooks (170-86, college: Florida) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Katarina Andersson (191-83) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Sallen. Umea have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 9-2 record. Sallen at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Umea will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sallen will play at home against Mark Basket and is hoping to win this game.
