Very expected game when 13th ranked Beer Yaakov (4-11) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Ramat Hasharon (9-6) 80-67 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 25-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Ramat Hasharon made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American center Kenny Lawson (206-88, college: Creighton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Ofir Farchi (187-86) helped adding 11 points and 9 assists. Five Ramat Hasharon players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Jordan Lewis (195-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO) with 23 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Bryquis Perine (190-88, college: Green Bay) scored 15 points. Ramat Hasharon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ironi Ramat Gan. Beer Yaakov lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Ramat Hasharon will face Elitzur Yavne (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Beer Yaakov will play against Elitzur Ramla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
