Regular Season Round 15: Hapoel Migd.H. - Hapoel Kazrin 79-87

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hapoel Kazrin as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Ironi Nahariya) loss. Hapoel Kazrin defeated 7th ranked Hapoel Migd.H. at home 87-79. It looked good early as Hapoel Migd.H. took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Kazrin had a 21-10 second period charge getting the lead and Hapoel Migd.H. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-87. They outrebounded Hapoel Migd.H. 40-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Hapoel Migd.H. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward David Loubeau (203-89, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Erik Etherly (201, college: Loyola, MD) accounted for 24 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winning side. point guard Ziv Ben-Zvi (183-92) came up with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and forward Guy Cohen (195-83) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Hapoel Migd.H. in the defeat. Four Hapoel Migd.H. players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Ironi Nahariya. Hapoel Migd.H. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Hapoel K/S and Elizur Ashkelon. Hapoel Migd.H. will play next round against Hod Hasharon trying to get back on the winning streak. Hapoel Kazrin will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Ironi Ashkelon on the road.
