Regular Season Round 17: M.Magixx - Amsterdam 87-58
Date: January 22, 2014
There was no surprise in Nijmegen where 9th ranked Amsterdam (4-15) was crushed by fifth ranked M.Magixx (11-8) 87-58 on Wednesday. The game without a history. M.Magixx led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (198-87) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The former international power forward Nick Oudendag (210-87, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four M.Magixx players scored in double figures. Center Lucas Steijn (211-86, college: Idaho St.) produced 10 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Aaron Roye (185-88) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. M.Magixx maintains fifth place with 11-8 record, which they share with Leiden. Loser Amsterdam keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. M.Magixx will face higher ranked Den Helder (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Amsterdam will play against Leiden (#6) and hope to win that game.
