Regular Season Round 21: Windsor - Western 67-50

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Windsor, ON. Second ranked Lancers faced 4th placed Mustangs. Host Lancers (10-5) defeated guests from London, ON (6-9) 67-50. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Mustangs. The game was mostly controlled by Lancers. Mustangs was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mustangs 49-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Lien Phillip (203-89) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Enrico Diloreto (185-90) accounted for 16 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Greg Morrow (190) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Peter Scholtes (196) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Mustangs in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Lancers. They maintain second place with 10-5 record having three points less than leader McMaster, which they share with Winnipeg. Mustangs at the other side keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
