Leader Marauders delivered the twelfth victory on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Gryphons (4-11) 88-59 in Hamilton, ON. The game was mostly controlled by Marauders. Gryphons was better in third quarter 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gryphons to just 7 points in second quarter. Marauders forced 19 Gryphons turnovers and outrebounded them 46-27 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Marauders especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was guard Aaron Redpath (193) who scored 15 points. Center Nathan McCarthy (203) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Five Marauders players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Daniel Dooley (186) who recorded 10 points and point guard Taylor Boers (178) added 14 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Marauders. They maintain first place with 12-3 record. Loser Gryphons dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
