Regular Season Round 21: Waterloo - Laurier 86-90

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Waterloo, ON: Golden Hawks (#4) and Warriors (#8). Warriors were defeated at home 86-90 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 31-22 Warriors' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 90-86 at the end of the game. Golden Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Warriors' 32. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for guard Jamar Forde (190) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Maxwell Allin (193) contributed with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. point guard Myles Charvis (178-94) answered with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Wayne Bridge (190-90) added 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Warriors. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Golden Hawks (7-8) moved-up to third place. Warriors at the other side keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
