Regular Season Round 26: Fujian QB - DongGuan L. 97-92

There was a surprise result in Jinjiang where ninth ranked Fujian (14-12) defeated higher ranked DongGuan Leopards (17-9) 97-92 on Wednesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Fujian outrebounded DongGuan Leopards 53-38 including 41 on the defensive glass. DongGuan Leopards were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Delonte West (192-83, college: St.Joseph's) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. International Zhelin Wang (215-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. Five Fujian players scored in double figures. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) produced 32 points (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Hanchen Luo (188-94) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Fujian moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Liaoning H. Loser DongGuan Leopards keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Fujian will face Foshan (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. DongGuan Leopards will play against Shanghai Sharks (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
