Dominos League round 19 most important game was a victory of Hamar over 7th ranked Grindavik 92-79 on Wednesday night. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Hamar's pressure prevailed and they won that period 26-20 extending their advantage to 13 points. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Diamber Johnson (170-90, college: Mississippi St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international forward Fanney Gudmundsdottir (179-89) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Hamar's coach Hallgimur Brynjolfsson used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Bianca Lutley (180-91, college: LSU, agency: Merit Management Group) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Maria Ben Erlingsdottir (187-88, college: UTPA, agency: Promotex) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Grindavik. Four Grindavik players scored in double figures. Hamar (7-12) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with KR. Grindavik lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Hamar is looking forward to face higher ranked Valur (#4) in Reykjavik in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Grindavik will play on the road against Njardvik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
