Regular Season Round 19: Uberlandia - Basquete Cearense 76-83

We should mention about the upset which took place in Uberlandia, where higher ranked Unitri (9-7) lost at home to tenth ranked SKY/Basquete (8-9) 76-83 on Thursday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-21. But Unitri won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Brandon Brown (178-89, college: Montana-West) helped adding 20 points. Four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. SKY/Basquete's coach Alberto Bial used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Valtinho Silva (187-77) scored 16 points and 6 assists. SKY/Basquete moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Mogi das Cruzes. Loser Unitri dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. SKY/Basquete will meet Vivo/Franca (#11) in the next round. Unitri will have a break next round.
