Regular Season Round 18: Aistes-LSU - Kibirkstis-VICI 42-70

Leader Kibirkstis-VICI delivered the seventeenth win on Friday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Aistes-LSU (8-10) 70-42 in Kaunas. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Kibirkstis-VICI dominated on the defensive end, holding Aistes-LSU to just 6 points in third and fourth quarters. Kibirkstis-VICI forced 26 Aistes-LSU turnovers. The best player for the winners was international forward Lina Pikciute (192-90) who scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Hollie Mershon (178-90, college: Drexel) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Kibirkstis-VICI's coach Jurgita Streimikyte felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Neringa Skadaite (179-92) who recorded 19 points and international power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) added 3 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Kibirkstis-VICI (17-1) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Aistes-LSU at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Kibirkstis-VICI are looking forward to face Suduva (#3) in Marijampole in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aistes-LSU's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kaunas to the arena H-Sirenos.
