Regular Season Round 22: Dalhousie - St.Mary's 60-78
Date: January 24, 2014
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Halifax, NS: Huskies (#3) and Tigers (#7). Tigers were smashed at home by 18 points 60-78 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tigers. The game without a history. Huskies led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Huskies forced 24 Tigers turnovers. Point guard Marquis Clayton (178) scored 15 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Terrence Taylor (198-87) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Huskies players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Kashrell Lawrence (188) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Devon Stedman (203) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Huskies (9-4) moved-up to second place. Tigers at the other side keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Huskies will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tigers will play at home against Capers (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
