No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Thunderwolves (5-10) beat 7th ranked Badgers (2-13) in Thunder Bay, ON 78-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Thunderwolves. Badgers was better in third quarter 29-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Thunderwolves forced 21 Badgers turnovers and outrebounded them 46-20 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for forward Igor Lebov (197-90, college: Franklin Pierce) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds. point guard Dwayne Harvey (178) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Thunderwolves players scored in double figures. Forward Tshing Kasamba (196) replied with 21 points and forward Dani Elgadi (201) added 6 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Badgers. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunderwolves maintains fifth position with 5-10 record, which they share with Brandon and Calgary. Badgers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 13 games lost. Thunderwolves will face again Badgers (#7) in St.Catharines, ON in the next round.
