The most exciting game of round 27 in the CBA took place in Shanghai. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Shanghai Sharks (16-11) to fourth ranked DongGuan Leopards (18-9) 88-86 in the game for the fourth place. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 30-18 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. DongGuan Leopards outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 59-46 including a 48-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Darnell Jackson (203-85, college: Kansas) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) added 29 points in the effort for Shanghai Sharks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. DongGuan Leopards maintains fourth place with 18-9 record. Shanghai Sharks lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with TianJin S. and Guangsha L.. DongGuan Leopards are looking forward to face league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shanghai Sharks will play at home against Foshan and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
